Phoebe was born during the summer of 2007 and was adopted into her family at 3 months old. She was an energetic and playful puppy that used to cry during the night until someone picked her up and kept her company. As a way to help her grow out of this, her family placed a radio next to her bed so she can listen to songs during the night and gradually this helped her become more independent. Phoebe loved music and barked every time someone turned the radio off because she associated music with her humans who talked to her and played with her during the day. She wasn’t any different from people in that respect because we tend to associate our favourite songs with loved ones and happy memories as well.

She passed away peacefully in her sleep at 14 years old with her human siblings holding her until the end. Now every time her family publishes a song through this label her humans will think of her just as she thought of them. This label is called Blonde Bear because Phoebe was distinctly blonde and she was like a living teddy bear that knew nothing but unconditional love, an emotion that we’ll always try to convey through our music here at BBR. The Abrahamic religions say that music is the speaking voice of all angels and Phoebe was definitely an angel so it’s only fitting that her legacy will be one and the same with the act of enabling musicians reach out to the world.

Gone but not forgotten...
